TempleTrips.com had the pleasure in sponsoring the Hayagreeva Pooja for 10th and PLUS TWO students all across South India. It was held on 25th of Feb 2006 at Thiruvaheendipuram near Cuddalore Tamil Nadu. The day was auspicious in the sense that it was a day of Sani Pradhosham combined with the star of Thiruvonam
There were many devotees who came in person to participate in the archana. Many devotees had sent pooja materials by courier. We promptly sent the archana prasathams, photos to the students by courier. Here are some pictures from the event.

The pooja was performed with utmost care and all names of students (hundreds) and their corresponding birth star names were read out during the pooja.
Some have registered for their grandchildren too. Most of the students for whom the archana was performed were PLUS TWO Public Exam candidates. There were IAS, C.A. candidates too, to mention a few.
templetrips.com is overwhelmed by the response which confirmed the fact that people have not lost their faith in the HINDU PHILOSOPHY and we personally take this opportunity to thank them one and all through this article.

Behind the eye-catching scenery, the location of the Hayagreevar temple on the hill of Aushatha Giri, was a feast for the eyes with the flora and fauna adding to the environment-friendly atmosphere. It is said that the hill Aushadha Giri is just a piece of the huge Sanjeeva Mountain that Sri Hanuman handlifted to heal the unconscious Lakshmana in the battlefield in Sri Lanka. While he was carrying it , a piece of the mountain fell down at Thiruvaheendirapuram. Hence it is being called Aushadha Giri suggesting a hill consisting of powerful herbals to cure the diseases.

The very name Aushadha suggests medicine, especially indigenous medicines prepared from the herbals of the hill. Even today, the Hanuman deity at the foot of the hill is aptly called, Aushadhagiri Aanjanaeyar. The water distributed to the surrounding places is taken from the mountain beds and is medicinal in nature not to mention the good taste.
Around 6.00 pm the archana programme commenced under the leadership of the Chief priest Sri. Narasimha Battacharyar,(PARAMPARAI STHANEEKAR}, the only priest who has the foremost right to perform such auspicious acts.
The names of students with their Gothram, Birth Star etc. were uttered before the Moola Vigraham of Sri Hayagreevar .Most of the students were plus two exam candidates.
Two Elakkai Malai(garland made of cardamom )were offered to the Urtsavar (idol made of Panchaloka ) gifted to Swamy Desikan by Garuda Baghavan. Special prasathams such as sarkarai pongal, puliotharai etc. were offered to the lord. Pure honey was also offered as neivaedhyam by the priest in addition to breaking of coconuts and kumkum archana.
While these things were taking place, colour pictures of Lord Sri Hayagreevar, ball point pen, were at the PATHAM of the deity symbolically requesting HIS GRACE to the students to get through their examination in flying colours.Goddess Sarasswathi Devi's colour pictures were also placed there.
The assembled group chanted the HAYAGREEVA SLOGAM.

The devotees who came in person were offered the neivaedhya prasatham.
The archana prasatham was sent to each participant by courier on 27th of February 2006 itself so as to reach them quite well before 02/03/06 when the Public Exam for Plus Two course starts. The prasatham included the two pictures and the pen mentioned above in addition to the well packed neivaedhya honey, one elakkai [cardamom] kumkum,Tulsi.
The chief priest Sri Narasimha Battacharyar says that taking the naivaedhya honey with milk would increase one's memory power.
We personally thank those who have acknowledged the receipt of the prasathams and their thanks giving letter would be published soon.
